Celebrating December with Lights From Around the World!!!

Image

From December 8th through the 14th, many families at Peirce School celebrated Hanukkah! We have a few families in our classroom that celebrate this winter holiday, and I wanted them to share their traditions with us! Evie’s mom came in last Wednesday and told us the children’s version of Hanukkah! The children learned a traditional song, and learned how to make their bodies turn into dreidel’s! Evie got to show us her menorah that she made for this year, and the menorah they use to light the candles every Friday night for Shabbat. Thank you for sharing your culture and traditions!!! It was really a neat experience for the kids!

Earlier last week, the children also made their own menorah’s using their hand prints and finger prints!!! The children LOVED this art project, and were so excited to share them with you! I hope you are enjoying the art work at home!

Ceci has been so into Hannukah, and had been asking for a Menorah for Christmas (I know, the irony!). She loved bringing the Menorah project home 🙂 GREAT idea!
